Dear Family and Friends,
A year ago today, we were all gathered in the beautiful gardens at Lotusland in Montecito for our marriage celebration. We thought today would be a good day to send on those pictures no one got to see, and to thank you again, for joining us.
We just wanted to take a moment and share a couple of things that really touched us from that weekend.
The first was watching our two sets of family and friends throw open their arms to each other and introduce themselves, with what really seemed like true joy and delight. Seriously, our favorite post-celebration activity was discussing the exchanges. Lily would suddenly say to me “Did you see Mom talking to your friend Tyke?” Or I’d say something like “Did you see Donny and Cassie cracking up with Sophia?” We were awed and humbled at how genuinely happy you all seemed to be, meeting each other. There was no “brides side and grooms side” vibe like some awkward high school dance.
The second thing touched our hearts in a way that’s hard to describe. We can’t tell you how many of you came up to us and said “You know, when we first heard what was going on, that you two had fallen in love and gotten married, we didn’t know what to make of it. Now that we see you guys together it makes TOTAL sense. You’re meant for each other.”
We’re the first to admit, our love story is a pretty unique one. We never questioned for a second that we'd caught lightening-in-a-bottle, and we weren't going to delay. We feel so blessed to have found each other, and that's why we wanted to pause today- to take a breath, remember back to a year ago, and send our gratitude to all of you. We both believe that we are actually just reflections of the goodness, love and joy that you grace us with. You all have taught us, supported us, encouraged us and loved us. I hope you feel it coming back to you from us, in spades.
Huge thanks to Isaac Hernandez and John Huba for taking all of these pictures. And thank YOU for being the stars of this chapter, in the story of our life.
Love,
Lily and Stewart
